As Chloe Bailey prepares to make her first solo performance on the upcoming MTV VMAS, some Chloe x Halle fans are wondering if her new solo career means that the sibling duo is breaking up. The 23-year-old singer wants their followers to know that she and Halle will release more music together.
“I miss my sister,” she says in a new edition of Saweetie‘s ICY University YouTube series. “We will get back together to our music as well.” Chloe will sing her soon-to-be-released single, “Have Mercy,” at the awards show on September 12, and is preparing her debut solo album.
The sisters have never won a VMA, despite four nominations in the past, and during their career they’ve also been shut out at the Grammys after receiving five nominations. Chloe says her dream is to not only to win a Grammy, but also an Emmy, an Oscar and a Tony Award — the illustrious EGOT. “It’s gonna happen.” she tells the “Best Friend” rapper.
Chloe has 3.6 million Instagram followers, and she generally receives positive comments. However, she admits that negative remarks do trouble her.
“l see that one that really messes with you, and you’ll be thinking about it the whole day,” she says. “You’ll be thinking, ‘Do I need to change this part about myself, am I doing this wrong?'” However, she explains that her faith in God inspires her to ignore the haters.
“I always pray when I feel like I can’t really handle it,” Chloe comments, “and then I realize you are perfect the way you are.”
