Freeform/Art StreiterSince Chloe x Halle split their Instagram accounts last month, social media fans have been brutal in their criticism of Chloe Bailey and some of her sexy posts.
Having racked up over 1.4 million IG followers, Chloe dismisses the unsolicited commentary about her provocative posts by saying, “I’m just being me.”
“When I see all the uproar about my posts I’m confused. I really don’t understand because I’ve never seen myself in that way or in that light,” said Chloe in an emotional IG Live video captured by The Shade Room. “I take it as a huge compliment that you all even think of me as a sexual being.”
The criticism came after Chloe’s most recent post: a video of her burning sage in her bedroom while dancing in her underwear. She explained she’s doesn’t post anything for “attention,” noting that her posts are simply a reflection of her journey to loving herself outside of music.
“Even in my lowest moments where people weren’t seeing me, where people were paying attention to me, God was,” said Chloe, as she wiped her tears way.
“A woman can be strong and stand in her power in every single way. I do it musically with my songwriting, with my producing,” she continued. “I feel so bada** and I get the same feeling when I dance in my room, when I just own who I am and my body. For so long, I used to think I was fat and I used to hate my stretch marks and my cellulite…But now, I really love who I am.”
“When I perform and when I dance, that’s when I tap into the sexier side of myself. That’s where I find my confidence,” Chloe declared.
