Eliot Lee Hazel/RCA RecordsChris Brown has been accused of battery following a basketball game early Monday morning, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
According to police, the singer got into an argument while playing a game at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. Brown allegedly punched an unidentified man, who later went to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries sustained as a result of a battery. The victim has since been released.
Although police responded to the scene, they didn’t speak with Brown. However, he’s been given the option of signing a citation for misdemeanor battery or having the case submitted to the Clark County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
Brown’s publicist has denied that the singer was involved. In a statement to ABC News, rep for Brown says, “Chris is currently in Las Vegas as he is performing at Drais on May 5th and receiving a Key to the Strip that day as well. He has a suite at the hotel that has a basketball court and invited friends to come play. An unruly individual showed up uninvited and was removed from the premises. Chris was not in an altercation with this person.”
