ABC/Rick PowellJohn Legend and Chrissy Teigen are celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary today, Friday, and Chrissy managed to both express her love for her husband at the same time as she playfully dissed him.
When it was announced Thursday that John was joining The Voice as a coach, the news overshadowed Chrissy’s announcement that she has a new cooking line with Target.
So when she posted a photo from their wedding day on Instagram, she let her husband know she didn’t appreciate him stealing her thunder.
“12 years ago today, I met the man of my dreams. And 5 years ago today, we got married,” she wrote. “My everything, I love you and am so proud of the story we’ve created. But you are an a**hole for releasing your @nbcthevoice news on my Target launch day for real.”
In John’s post, he made sure he congratulated Chrissy.
“What can I say on a day like today? I could talk about the 12 beautiful years I’ve known you,” he commented. “I could talk about the 5 years of wedded bliss, the 2 wonderful children we’ve brought into this world.”
“But I feel the urge to say something far more important. I LOVE your new kitchenware line at @Target,” he continued.” I can’t wait for it to come out on September 30th. I’m so proud of everything you’ve done in your career and how much joy you bring to people’s lives.”
He continued the promotion, adding, “Did I mention that your Cravings Cookbook is coming out Tuesday? Because it’s coming out Tuesday. I love you, baby.”
The couple have much to celebrate: The 10-time Grammy Award-winner just made history when he won an Emmy for producing NBC’s Jesus Christ Superstar Live. With the honor, he became the first African-American man to achieve EGOT status: winning the Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony.
