Two-time Grammy nominee Christina Milian enjoyed a successful music career from 2001 to 2008, however for the past 13 years, she’s focused on acting, including film roles in Be Cool, Baggage Claim and Torque.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of her self-titled debut album, which was followed by It’s About Time in 2004, and her third and most recent album, So Amazin’, in 2006. Her fans are anxiously waiting for her new music, and she wants them to know she never stopped recording.

“I still make records so who knows, maybe next year or something I will put something out,” the Love Don’t Cost A Thing star tells ABC Audio.

However, at 40 years old, she sometimes wonders if her time in music has past.

“I’m like, am I too old?” she laughs. She says when her friends hear her doubting herself, they encourage her: “Everybody is like, ‘Do it, do it, do it.’ It’s never too late.”

Milian is looking forward again to the thrill of performing new music.

“Moments like that always make me want to get back into the studio,” she says.

However with three children, including her baby son, Kenna, who was born April 24, she knows going on the road presents challenges.

“Now with kids it is a little more difficult so thank God I get movies and TV shows where I get to sing songs now or go on stage and perform,” she says. “But it does inspire me that I can still continue to do it.”

You can currently see Christina in the Netflix romantic comedy, Resort to Love, in which she portrays Erica, an aspiring pop singer who ends up as the entertainment at her ex-fiancé’s wedding on a resort island.
