Christina Milian Loves Juggling Music and Acting Careers

Shareif Ziyadat/WireImageChristina Milian’s schedule is jammed with film and TV roles, however she makes sure she leaves time for her recording career.

“I love putting out music and it really doesn’t have to be a giant body of work,” she tells Georgie magazine.  Her most recent release was the EP 4U in December. Milian is still devoted to singing, but she needs a variety of entertainment outlets to fully express herself.

“If you’re creative, you don’t want to be bored,” Milian says. “You will do anything to give out your creative flow and eventually, if you believe it, it will become something.”

Her Fox TV series, Grandfathered, wrapped up its first season on Tuesday, and while she waits on a possible renewal, she’s also in limbo for a third season of her E! reality series Christina Milian Turned Up. Now she’s busy shooting a remake of The Rocky Horror Picture Show in Toronto. Milian says dancers working on the film recommended her to director Kenny Ortega for a role as a domestic worker named Magenta.

“I got a phone call asking if I would even be interested – I’ve always been a fan of Rocky Horror,” she says. After that, it was just talking about getting into this character, but [Ortega] was just really free about it and creative, and I got to come right on-board and start working on it directly. It’s been fun learning my character along the way because I was really hopping from one project to the next.”
