Epic RecordsThis weekend BET will air Black Girls Rock!, which was pre-tapped at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark last month.
Ciara, Jill Scott, Fantasia, Faith Evans, Lalah Hathaway and Sheila E. are among the performers at the fifth annual ceremony, which recognizes African-American female trailblazers in the arts, philanthropy, sports and community service.
Erykah Badu will receive the Rock Star Award, while Jada Pinkett Smith will be the recipient of the Star Power Award. Additional honorees will include Cicely Tyson, who is being recognized with the Living Legend Award, and Selma director Ava DuVernay, who will receive the Shot Caller Award.
Hosted by Tracee Ellis Ross from Black-ish and Regina King, Black Girls Rock! will air Sunday, April 5 at 7 p.m. ET.
