Da Brat shares more of her inspiring coming-out story on ‘The Tamron Hall Show’

by

Paras Griffin/Getty ImagesHip hop legend Da Brat will appear on The Tamron Hall Show today with her girlfriend, Jesseca Dupart, and her longtime friend and collaborator Jermaine Dupri.

In a teaser clip, Dupri said he enjoys seeing the woman he “never used to move without” in a “space” of comfort.

“It’s almost back to the same space that she was in when I first met her,” Dupri tells Tamron. “She could do whatever she wants to do again. I’m very happy to see that she’s in a very comfortable space and just happy.”

Da Brat interjected immediately, noting this was the first time Dupri has ever spoken about her dating life.

“They reached out to him to comment when I came out [and] he turned it down. He wasn’t doing interviews,” she continued. “He really doesn’t interfere with my life. He lets me live and do whatever it is I need to do to make myself happy.”

These days no one makes Brat happier than Dupart. The Growing Up Hip Hop Atlanta stars have been on cloud nine since coming-out last March and Dupart said she hopes Brat now understands her worthiness to be loved.

“When I came into her life, honestly, it was kind of shocking to me to meet her,” says Dupart. “And she did not know that she was as beautiful as she is and how valuable her heart was. She did not know a lot of things. And it just was shocking to me. How could you be a legend? How could you be so successful and have all of these things going on and really not know.”

Catch Da Brat on The Tamron Hall Show airing today at 10 a.m. EST on ABC.
