Delta Airlines investigating pilot incident involving Tamar Braxton

by

ABC/Adam TaylorAfter a pilot had a discussion with Tamar Braxton about obeying fight attendant instructions, Delta Airlines is now investigating the incident.

Tamar’s sister, Towanda, posted a video of the exchange on Instagram with the comment, “@tamarbraxton got ridiculed by a pilot for flying while black on Delta. Wow! I guess being a diamond and double million miler don’t matter… @deltaShame on you… #WhyArePeopleSoMad #flyingwhileblack”

In the video, the pilot says to Tamar, “Here’s how this works. My flight attendants work for me. They give orders that come from me, OK? And so if you get an instruction from a flight attendant, I need to know that you are willing and able to do what you are told to do. Are you willing and able to do what you are told to do by a flight attendant? Don’t ask my any questions… answer yes or no.”

Tamar responded, Yes,” and after the pilot walked away, Towanda said, “Tamar, we should get off of this plane.”

Towanda further commented on Instagram that the pilot and a flight attendant wrongfully accused Tamar of being drunk because she had a blanket over her head while trying to sleep, according to The Jasmine Brand

Delta responded to Towanda, tweeting, “Towanda, our employees reflect our culture of treating all people with dignity and respect, and if we aren’t doing that, we aren’t doing our job. We’re looking into it now. Please DM here for additional assistance.”

No word yet if Towanda or Tamar responded back to Delta Airlines.
