Courtesy of Fathom EventsDiana Ross turns 75 in 2019, and the former Supremes singer and legendary solo artist plans to mark the milestone with a yearlong commemoration called the Diamond Diana Celebration. The festivities will launch on Diana’s actual 75th birthday, March 26, with special screenings of a film event titled Diana Ross: Her Life, Love and Legacy at select theaters across the globe.

The movie will feature footage of Ross’ historic concert film Diana Ross: Live in Central Park, which will be enhanced with new tribute messages from Diana’s sons Ross and Evan and daughters Rhonda and Chudney, as well as an introduction from her daughter and black-ish star Tracee Ellis Ross.

Live in Central Park documents a famous free concert Diana gave in New York City over the course of two days in July 1983. More than 800,000 fans turned up for the Motown legend’s show on July 21 of that year, but a torrential downpour put a damper on the event. Ross promised from the stage she would return to Central Park’s Great Lawn and perform a full concert the next day, and she made good on that promise, delivering an inspired, career-spanning set that included a medley of Supremes classics and many memorable solo hits.

Additional screenings of Diana Ross: Her Life, Love and Legacy also will be held in theaters on March 28, 2019. Visit FathomEvents.com for more details.

“I am so appreciative of Fathom Events for presenting this screening,” says Diana. “It is one of the most significant and moving and memorable moments of my career. It makes me want to DO IT AGAIN!”

Meanwhile, regarding her Diamond Diana Celebration, Ross notes, “I want to celebrate my birthday for the whole year, not just one night.”
