Following her iconic performance during Verzuz at the Apollo, multi-Grammy-winning superstar H.E.R.will appear on ABC’s The View today.
The R&B singer will virtually chat with co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin and Meghan McCain, where she will hopefully share details about her next album and forthcoming projects.
H.E.R. was snubbed at the 2021 Golden Globes Awards Sunday night for her Judas and the Black Messiah anthem, “Fight For You,” which was nominated for Best Original Song. Yet, the singer is still on a vocal high after joining R&B vet D’Angelo for a performance of her 2017 duet, “Best Part” during the first Verzuz at the Apollo Saturday night.
“SURPRISE! I SANG WITH D’ANGELO AT THE APOLLO! He’s my favorite,” wrote H.E.R. in the caption of an Instagram video of her performance. “I can’t believe he’s my biggest fan lol. Thank you @verzuztv and @djscratch! What a HISTORIC moment. TOP 5.”
This marks H.E.R.’s first time participating in the Verzuz series launched by Grammy-winning producers, Timbaland and Swizz Beatz. After performing her “Best Part” duet, which originally featured Daniel Caesar, DJ Scratch stopped the turntables to utter the only word fitting for such an amazing performance that left many speechless, “Wow.”
