Drake is making a big donation to a Philadelphia high school once rated the country’s most dangerous. The rapper has decided to build a recording studio inside Philly’s Strawberry Mansion High School.
Strawberry Mansion was featured on a World News with Diane Sawyer special report back in May. “By the end of it, I was so heavily affected, I started questioning major aspects of my life,” said Drake of the report, during a taping of an ABC News report.
“In the next few months, I’m building a recording studio inside your school,” Drake is seen telling a school audience in a video clip from the report posted online. “This is about you, this is about your principal, this is about your future. I love you, I care about you, and I want to see you succeed.”
In addition to the studio, students were given free tickets and transportation to Drake’s Would You Like a Tour show at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center on December 18.
