Drake sets weekly streaming record with “In My Feelings”

by

Republic RecordsDrake couldn’t be “feeling” any better — he’s just set the all-time weekly streaming record.

The Toronto rapper’s “In My Feelings” earned 116 million streams for the week ending July 19, breaking the record of 103 million set in 2013 by “Harlem Shake” by Bauer, according to Billboard.

The success of “In My Feelings” has been boosted by the viral dance challenge created by Instagram star Shiggy, and last week, Drake thanked the comedian in a video shot at a party in Los Angeles.

The song remains number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for the second straight week, and is the sixth number one song of Drake’s career.  The others are “Nice For What,” “God’s Plan,” “One Dance” and his two collaborations with Rihanna: “Work” and “What’s My Name?”

Drake has now spent a career total of 41 weeks at the top of the chart, tying Rihanna for the most weeks this decade.

His latest album, Scorpion, also remains at the top of the Billboard 200 album chart for a third straight week, selling 260,000 units for the week ending July 19.
