Drake Steps Back from Aaliyah Project, Says “I Wish Them the Best of Luck”

by

Facebook.com/YoungMoneyEntDrake dropped a bombshell during the third part of his CRWN interview with Elliott Wilson posted recently to Myspace, revealing that he is no longer spearheading the long-planned posthumous Aaliyah album.

“I don’t know,” he said as to why he is no longer involved.  “I think the press got out of hand and they maybe had a different vision for it or something.  It was sounding great to me.”

Drake, who released his Aaliyah collaboration “Enough Said” last year, hopes that at least one of their duets make the final track list. “There might be a record on there with me and her,” he said, “I’m not sure. It was great. It sounded really good.”

He failed to explain who stopped the recording process, which included Drake’s producer Noah “40″ Shebib, but the Toronto rapper added, “Whatever they end up doing with it, I wish them the best of luck.”

The rapper also discussed songs off his third album, Nothing Was the Same, which is available in stores now.
