Republic RecordsDrake is expanding his empire to television with a new series for HBO.
The Toronto rapper and his manager, Future the Prince, are serving as executive producers of Euphoria,Variety reports.
Zendaya will star in the lead role of Rue in the show, which is based on an Israeli series about a group of high school students.
Drake tweeted a meme of Zendaya with the comment, “side effects include #EUPHORIA. coming soon @Zendaya.”
This will be the first TV producing credit for Drake, who began his entertainment career as an actor, starring from 2001-2009 in the Canadian TV series, Degrassi: The Next Generation.
No word yet on when Euphoria will debut.
