The Miami Heat player was casually strolling the beach in Montecito, California when Ryan Baschdecided to get down on one knee and pop the question to his girlfriend, Katie Ryan. Wade seemed to be moved by the romantic gesture and, thanks to the couple’s photographer, his reaction was caught on camera.
In a snapshot shared on Instagram by the groom-to-be, the soon-to-be bride is grinning from ear to ear while the basketball star is seen in the background with a hand on his heart as he looks over at the couple.
Wade didn’t just photobomb them, though. Another photo shows that he actually made his way over and posed for a photo with the newly engaged pair.
“When @dwyanewade happens to be taking a sunset stroll on the beach and walks by mid-proposal,” Basch wrote alongside the pictures.
Wade reposted the photos to his Instagram Story and wrote, “It was so dope to witness you guys love!” He also sent a direct message and added, “I need ya’ll marriage to work. It’s now on my conscious[sic] haha.”
Basch, clearly thrilled about meeting the icon, posted screenshots of both messages, along with the caption, “Hahahahaha this is insane!!! @dwyanewade you’re the man!”
