The song, featured during the season premiere episode, and the visual are a response to gun violence in America, particularly regarding the shooting deaths of Philando Castile, Alton Sterling and the Pulse nightclub attack in Orlando, Florida.
The video portrays searing images of protests across the nation, with lyrics sung by actor Jussie Smollett as Jamal Lyon from the show.
