ABC/Eddy ChenDon’t let go just yet: En Vogue‘s Cindy Herron has revealed that the R&B group will release a brand-new album this year.
“We have a new single. The album will be called Electric Cafe. The single that we released is called ‘Deja Vu,'” she tells EurWeb. The song, released last year, was a reward for the group’s patient and loyal fanbase, she says.
“It was just a freebie that we gave away because our fans had been waiting and asking for music. They were so patient that we just said, ‘Let’s put this up on Spotify and on the streaming website.’ They can go to our website and stream the music,” she says.
En Vogue’s forthcoming album will be their firt since the release of their 2004 studio project, Soul Flower. Cindy explains to ABC Radio what fans can expect to hear on it.
“We worked with our original producers, Denzil Foster and Thomas McElroy, so they know us. They know how to capture that signature En Vogue sound. Yes, so there are a lot of those harmonies. But definitely it’s going to be an evolved sound because the music reflects where we are today,” she says.
