Erica Campbell comes to sister Tina’s defense over reported reason she voted for Donald Trump

by

L-R: Erica Campbell, Tina Campbell of Mary Mary; ABC/Ida Mae AstuteIn Tina Campbell‘s recent interview with The Root, the gospel singer is quoted saying she voted to elect President Donald Trump due to some of his “views on Christianity.”

But Tina’s sister, Erica Campbell, is saying that just isn’t true.

In an Instagram message from Erica to entertainment site Baller Alert, she writes, “NOT WHAT SHE SAID AT ALL. Just read her letter for yourself she wrote at the very beginning of his presidency and she was hoping for the best.. google Tina’s letter.”

“She said NOTHING about his Christianity…read it for yourself.”

The letter Erica refers to is the one wrote Tina wrote on Facebook for fans in January, which is completely separate from Tina’s interview with The Root.

In her Facebook letter, Tina writes, “Although I don’t always understand or agree with Mr. Donald Trump’s politics, perspective, and approach, I believe that the same God that created all of us has deposited greatness inside of him that goes far beyond what many of us have seen and what many of us could imagine.”

“I choose to believe in President Donald Trump.”

However, in her Root interview, the “I’ll Wait” singer goes into detail about her Facebook note, saying during the 2016 presidential campaign, she “was faced with two presidential candidates that I really did not approve of.

“And some of Donald Trump’s views on Christianity, honestly, is what caused me to vote for him.”
