EssenceGrammy-winner and Emmy nominee Eve is joining with Essence magazine to honor women in film during the publication’s annual Oscar week celebration.
The rapper/actress and co-host of The Talk will host the 13th annual Essence Black Women In Hollywood Awards on February 6 at the Beverly Wilshire hotel in Los Angeles.
“This is such an important time for women in the world — especially working in the entertainment industry both in front of the camera and behind the scenes,” Eve says. “Essence is such an incredible brand that I’ve looked up to over the years, so I’m over the moon to be a part of this event!”
This year’s honorees are actresses Niecy Nash and Lashana Lynch, Queen & Slim director Melina Matsoukas, and Pose cast members Mj Rodriquez, Indya Moore, Dominique Jackson, Angelica Ross and Hailie Sahar. Pose co-executive producer/director/writer Janet Mock will also be honored
Presenters will include Ava DuVernay, Alfre Woodward, Issa Rae and Billy Porter.
