Evans and Benet are teaming up for the “Duets” tour kicking off in June, Singersroom.com reports. They also plan to record new music together before the tour.
In addition to singing “Georgy Porgy,” and their own solo hits, the duo will perform covers of several classic R&B duets, including “Back Together Again” by Roberta Flack and Donny Hathaway, and “My Boo” by Alicia Keys and Usher.
Last year, Benet toured with Marsha Ambrosius on “The M.E Tour.”
The veteran singers both launched their solo careers in the mid ‘90s. Evans dropped her self-titled debut album in 1995, while Benet released his first album, True to Myself, one year later.
Evans and Benet are describing their show as ”A Lifetime of Music in One Night.” Tour dates will be announced later.
