“Words can not express how devastated we are at the sudden and tragic loss of our dear Maxee,” said Carsten Schack and son Nicolaj Hojer Schack in a joint statement to BET.com. “She was the center of our world as a devoted mother and wife. We miss her so much. We would like to thank everyone who has been there for us and expressed your condolences. They have given us comfort over these incredibly difficult days.”
The family is requesting “privacy during this most difficult time,” the statement reads.
As TMZ previously reported, Charmayne’s husband found her unconscious and bleeding from her neck at their Los Angeles home on Friday night. Maxwell died on the way to the hospital after reportedly suffering a cut on her neck from a broken wine glass.
The official cause of death has yet to be determined.
