Kevin Mazur/Getty Images for Anheuser-BuschFKA Twigs, Santigold, Jill Scott and more are among the big names recruited for Afropunk 2019, set to take place August 24 and 25 at the Commodore Barry Park in Brooklyn, New York.
While Scott has been tapped to headline this year’s festivities, alongside Kamasi Washington, the lineup also boasts appearances from Danny Brown, Toro Y Moi, Tierra Whack, Leon Bridges, Rico Nasty, J.I.D, Goldlink and more.
In addition to its stacked performers list, Afropunk will also be revisiting its annual Battle of the Bands, the Spin Thrift Market and a series of panels titled “Solution Sessions.”
The festival organizers have also announced that they’ll be continuing their community service initiative, Afropunk Army, which gives fans the chance to earn tickets to the festival through volunteer work. The program is expected to launch in May.
