Houghton, who abruptly ended his 20-year marriage in March, was spotted with Bailon a month later, leaving many of his fans shocked and upset. Houghton’s responded with an Instagram post of a photo of himself kissing Bailon, with his two kids posing nearby, adding the caption, “A kiss to build a dream on… Top of the World. Top of the Rock.”
Fans quickly criticized Houghton’s photo, calling out the singer for dating a seemingly un-Christian-like woman. RhymeswithSnitch captured some of the interaction between Houghton and his fans.”
“To be honest, It’s not the fact that you’re divorced or dating that gets to me… It’s who you’re dating,” one fan writes. “I can’t vouch for her like I can for you. You have a good track record as a Christian/Minister/Worshiper that we all can see … I go to her page and .. I’m … It’s just confusing,” the fan wrote.
Houghton responded: “I have faith that everyone will get over it. It’s amazing to me that people feel like it’s okay to bash people that they do not know. Including the woman that I absolutely love. Someday people will know more about how special @adriennebailon is. She loves God. She loves me. That’s it. I can’t speak to your confusion based on her page…”
