ABC/Kevin MazurIt was a very emotional Father’s Day for Halle Berry, who fondly remembered her late father, who died in 2003.
The John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum star posted an Instagram photo of her father, Jerome Jesse Berry. While Halle has been very open in the past about her father abusing her mother, but now, apparently, she sees him in more of a positive light..
“My heart is full…full of love for my DADDY! This is one of only 2 pictures I have of him, and it has become family gold!” she wrote.
“While I didn’t have much of a relationship with him while he was here, as he was alcohol addicted and that addiction robbed us of the relationship we were meant to have, I now understand how much he loved me and how vital he was and is to my life!”
Halle’s parents divorced when she was four years old, and she did not have any additional contact with her estranged father.
“I miss you today daddy and wherever you are, I know you’re smiling down on me because I feel your love!,” Halle continued.
She also remembered to acknowledge the dads of her two children: Oliver Martinez, the father of her five-year-old son Maceo, and Gabriel Aubrey, the father of her 11-year-old daughter, Nahla.
