HBO to Re-Air Beyonce’s Lemonade June 18

Parkwood/ColumbiaOn Thursday, HBO announced it will re-air Beyoncé’s critically acclaimed visual album, Lemonade, June 18 at 10 p.m.

The one-hour HBO film, which has multiple directors credited including Beyoncé herself, was an accompaniment to Beyonce’s sixth studio opus,which after the end of the film on April 23.  The 12-track album features the early single “Formation,” and guest appearances by Jack White, The Weeknd, James Blake and Kendrick LamarLemonade followed the 2013 “surprise release” concept of Beyonce.

Appearances by her parents, Mathew Knowles and Tina Knowles-Lawson, as well as Serena Williams, Zendaya, Amandla Stenberg and Quvenzhane Wallis are featured. In addition, Jay Z and their daughter Blue Ivy are shown, alongside brief appearances by the mothers of unarmed black males who were killed: Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown and Eric Garner.

There’s footage of the power couple’s 2008 wedding, and shots of them receiving the matching Roman numeral “IV” tattoos they both have on their ring fingers.
