Cindy Ord/Getty Images for LongchampParis Jackson is upset that she allegedly was not invited to this year’s Billboard Music Awards nor was told about her aunt, Janet Jackson‘s, Billboard ICON Award honor.
According to Rhymes With Snitch, the actress wrote in a recent Instagram story, “no one from my mgmt reached out to me about attending billboards or about the award, and no one from my family did either. i had absolutely no idea until y’all spammed me with hatred.”
Paris’ admission comes after fans lashed out at her for not publicly praising Janet’s Billboard ICON trophy win prior to the awards show.
Paris added another message to her Instagram story, captured by Rhymes With Snitch, which shows her and Auntie Janet posing with their tongues sticking out in a fun moment.
Below the picture, Paris wrote, “congrats auntie ! you earned it [heart emoji].”
As previously reported, Janet Jackson became the first black female artist to receive the Billboard ICON Award.
She took the stage to perform a medley of her hit tracks including “Nasty,” “If” and “Throb” and later gave a powerful speech about female empowerment.
