The second season of Empire returns later this fall and it looks like director Lee Daniels is still recruiting more musical guest stars. Apparently, he has his eye on The Weeknd to appear on Fox’s hit musical drama.
Daniels teased his interest in the singer via Instagram, posting a photo of himself embracing the reclusive star. “Eyeing up a potential candidate … Hmmmm…,” Daniels wrote in the caption, adding the hashtags “#whatanincredibleartist” and “#empireseason2.”
While nothing is officially confirmed on The Weeknd’s involvement with the show, Chris Rock, Alicia Keys and Lenny Kravitz are slated to guest star on the upcoming season on Empire, which returns September 23.
