Is Tyrese being investigated by L.A. County’s Children and Family Services?

by

ABC/Jeff NeiraTyrese might be in trouble with the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services, according to TMZ.

As previously reported, the singer-actor’s ex-wife Norma Mitchelle Gibson, claims the Fate of the Furious star hit their ten-year old daughter, Shayla “between 12 and 16 times,” and struck Norma “a number of times in the past.”

Now, TMZ reports that Norma’s “trying to get a permanent restraining order prohibiting him from physically disciplining” Shayla.

Norma is also seeking “full physical and legal custody” of their child and wants Tyrese to “take domestic violence courses.”

In addition, TMZ reports that Norma fears Tyrese will take Shayla to Dubai, where he has several business ventures, and never return to the States.

A court previously granted Norma temporary physical and legal custody of Shayla prior to an October 2 hearing.

Tyrese was ordered to stay 100 yards away from Norma and Shayla according to court documents obtained by People

The artist also made a statement to People, saying, “After nine years of working extremely hard to co-parent our child, I am disappointed to learn that the mother of my daughter has made gross and false accusations against my character in a shameful attempt to ruin our co-parenting efforts.”

Tyrese was married to Norma from 2007 to 2009.

The singer married his new wife, Samantha Lee, this year on Valentine’s Day.
