Warwick Saint/EssenceJanelle Monáe is featured on two separate covers for the February 2017 issue of Essence magazine, by herself and alongside Hidden Figures co-stars Octavia Spencer and Taraji P. Henson.
In the issue, Monáe talks about the sisterhood portrayed in the film, which tells the story of three black women who provided NASA with important mathematical data needed to launch the program’s first successful space mission.
“They knew that they were stronger together… I think they would not have achieved the level of success they did had they not had one another,” she tells the publication.
