Janelle Monae is kicking off the new year by resuming the push behind her latest effort, Dirty Computer.

Monday, the Grammy-nominated singer continued the momentum by dropping off a futuristic visual for the deep cut, “Screwed.” In the clip, a hungover Janelle and her friends, including Tessa Thompson, wake up on a roof. Things take a turn for the worse once the group spots a security bot flying overhead, which begins to pursue them.

Monae and her crew ultimately seek refuge at a nearby underground party, where they revel in playing instruments and dancing under flashing lights. The video concludes with politically-charged imagery, as Thompson is dragged off by the security officers and taken away in a hovercraft.

“Screwed” follows Monáe’s clip for “Crazy, Classic, Life,” released early last month.
