Just days after reporting about his net worth, Forbes has listed Jay-Z as one of the world’s billionaires. The entrepreneur was placed at #1,217 on the list due to an increase in net worth, which was largely part of his liquor businesses.
Hov had sold a 50% stake in Armand de Brignac (Ace of Spades) to spirits giant LVMH in 2021 and in 2023 a majority of his stake in D’Usse to Bacardi. He also makes money from other streams of income, including his music catalog, pieces from his art collection and his shares in various service companies.
Jay is the only rapper named in this year’s list. Kanye West, who was once a billionaire, has fallen off following his antisemitic rants, which led to the end of his partnership with Adidas. He is now worth $400 million, Forbes reports.
His ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, has secured a spot on the list with a net worth of $1.2 billion, while Rihanna placed at #2,020, thanks mainly to her Fenty Beauty brand. Rih’s net worth dropped from $1.7 billion last year.
