by

Myesha Evon GardnerThe wait is over! Jazmine Sullivan‘s long-awaited fourth album, Heaux Tales, is out now.

Fans have waited five years for hear Sullivan’s stunning vocals on some new tracks, and this is one of her best projects yet. Some fans were shocked but they embraced 33-year-old exploring new themes about sex, empowerment, desire, and owning one’s body from a woman’s perspective.

The 14-piece conceptual project features appearances from fellow R&B staples Ari Lennox, Anderson .Paakand H.E.R., plus spoken-word “tales” from six different women. The album serves as the follow up to 2015’s Grammy-nominated album, Reality Show.

And just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, Jazmine Sullivan finally made an appearance on NPR’s Tiny Desk (Home) Concert series. Supported by a full band and three background singers, the singer gave an acoustic performance of some of her Heaux Tales, as well as her classic song “Let It Burn.” H.E.R. and her guitar joined Sullivan for the grand finale performance of their sobering single, “Girl Like Me.”

Fans are eating up Jazmine’s grown and sexy project on social media and according to Twitter fans, it was well “worth” the wait. “Jazmine Sullivan started 2021 R&B off on a high note. We waited 6 years for this and it was absolutely worth it,” wrote one fan.

Another wrote, “I love Jazmine Sullivan. I don’t care about #HeauxTales being an EP, LP, or PC! She set the tone for R&B this year. From the songs, sequencing, vocals and more. If you’re not coming like that or better, then save your time and keep it on the hard drive! Thank you and God Bless.”
