The visual shows Hudson and Common, and other celebrities such as Natalie Portman and Orlando Bloom, promising to be “examples of kindness and service” to others in need, and asking viewers to consider doing the same in their own communities. Anyone interested in taking the WE Pledge will ensure that $10 is donated to an empowerment program of one’s choosing.
The video has been released prior to the second annual WE Day television event, scheduled to air later this month. The program, which is an offshoot of the WE movement, will feature American youth who are making a difference in their communities around the world.
Big Sean, Ciara and Tyrese, along with Jennifer Hudson and Common, are scheduled to appear during the national broadcast of WE Day, airing on August 28 at 7 p.m. ET.
