Jill Scott and her Blues Babe Foundation have partnered with Hallmark’s Mahogany brand to provide two $10,000 scholarships to current undergraduate students pursuing a career in the writing arts.
In addition to the scholarships, award recipients will be invited to attend a three-day, all-expenses-paid workshop at Hallmark’s headquarters in Kansas City during the spring or summer of 2016.
“To be able to give inner-city students the opportunity to receive a scholarship and pursue a career in writing is phenomenal,” Jill says in a statement.
To apply, students must be current post-secondary undergraduates pursuing a career in the writing arts, and must be enrolled full-time at a four-year college or university for spring and fall 2016.
