ABC/Paula LoboIt’s only September, but John Legend is already gearing up for the holiday season.
Netflix announced on Monday that Legend and his Get Lifted Productions partner Mike Jackson will produce David E. Talbert‘s upcoming Neflix holiday movie, Jingle Jangle.
Talbert, who directed and wrote such films as First Sunday, Baggage Claim, and Almost Christmas, will write, direct and also produce the forthcoming film.
Although casting has yet to be announced, the film will center around a toy maker, his “precocious” granddaughter, and a magical invention which could “could change their lives forever” if they can get it ready in time for the holidays.
This is the latest project for Legend, who became an EGOT earlier this month for producing NBC’s Jesus Christ Superstar Live In Concert. He’s also just signed on as judge for the spring season of NBC’s The Voice.
Meanwhile, Talbert is currently working on an original half-hour comedy for ABC, produced by LeBron James and Gabrielle Union.
