John Shearer/Getty Images via ABCEmpire star Jussie Smollett has seen so many famous guest stars came and go on the set of the popular Fox TV series. However, he does have a favorite.
Jussie tells ABC Radio that Alicia Keys is “honestly one of my favorite people that I’ve worked with so far, musically.”
Alicia made a cameo appearance on the show in 2015 as a character named Skye Summers.
“I feel like we had great chemistry and she’s such a kind woman,” says Jussie.
“I’m so close to Swizz [Beatz, Keys’ husband]. He produced, like, half of my album. I can honestly say that Alicia Keys is one of the kindest people that I’ve ever worked with.”
Whether or not Alicia has plans to return to Empire is currently unknown, but Jussie says he’d “love for her to come back.”
“I think that we had great chemistry and I think that our storyline was strong enough that she could come back and be not on the whole thing necessarily of Jamal and her together, but creatively they still could work together.”
Empire returns after the Thanksgiving holiday with a brand-new episode Wednesday, November 29 at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
