On her new album All Monsters Are Human, K. Michelle has a song called “Ciara’s Prayer,” based on Ciara‘s famous prayer that she says brought her together with Russell Wilson.  But does K. Michelle really believe that prayer is the answer to finding a loving relationship?

“It probably is, like, she did it,” the R&B songstress tells ABC Radio, referring to Ciara.  She laughs, “I don’t really believe in men, but I mean, she did it, so I want that for women. I want women to love without hurt.”

Right now, it seems that Michelle is finding that a bit difficult with her current relationship. She met Dr. Kastan Sims in high school, although they didn’t begin dating until 2015. Last year, the couple made headlines after revealing plans to start a family with the help of a surrogate. While the pair have been on the hush-hush tip about their relationship, K. Michelle set the record straight about where they stand.

“I mean, we going through issues, you know. I think things could be better,” she tells ABC Audio. “We always think the grass is greener on the other side too, so I’m just trying to field through that and make sure I’m doing the right thing.”

In addition to “Ciara’s Prayer,”All Monsters Are Human, Michelle’s fifth studio album, offers heartwarming tracks like “Just Like Jay” and lead single “The Rain,” which samples New Edition‘s 1998 hit.  It’s become her fourth number one album on Billboard Hot R&B charts.
