Kat Graham’s love and hate relationship with Thanksgiving won’t stop her from enjoying family and good vegan food

ABC/Image Group LAAlthough Kat Graham says her favorite thing about Thanksgiving is “obviously being around family, being around friends and having good food,” the singer and All Eyez On Me actress says that she actually has “a bit of a love and hate relationship” with the holiday.

“You know, I spent last year at Standing Rock [Indian Reservation], so I think there’s also a part of me that also wants to bring a bit of consciousness to the holiday and understand that I’m appreciating the family aspect and how America really embraces that part,” she tells ABC Radio.

Kat continues, “But I also think that it’s important to remember and appreciate Native Americans and what was sacrificed and how this country was made. I’m trying to focus on family and food.”

Speaking of food, the entertainer, who’s also looking forward to appearing on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles float at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday, adds that this year will be her first vegan Thanksgiving.

“It’s gonna be tricky, but I know I’m gonna get some yummy food,” she says.”

“I don’t really wanna eat anyone’s body. Like, that’s not celebrating life and family to me.”
