Image Group LA/ABCKeke Palmer has teamed up with rapper DMX for the indie drama Pimp, and here’s the twist: Palmer’s the one playing the pimp.
In the upcoming film, Palmer stars as a gay woman who works as a pimp, and is looking to find a better life for her and her girlfriend.
Set in New York, the story follows the dangers of the illegal sex trade, and Palmer’s character’s attempts to navigate life on the streets.
In addition to Palmer, Pimp stars The Originals’ Haley Ramm as the girlfriend, and DMX as the father of Palmer’s character.
Riverdale‘s Vanessa Morgan and Birth of a Nation‘s Aunjanue Ellis round out the supporting cast.
An official release date for Pimp has not been set.
