The 2013 American Music Awards take place this Sunday at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, CA. Justin Timberlake and TLC are among the artists who will take the stage at the event, while 2 Chainz, Akon, and Ciara are on the list of presenters.

2 Chainz will not only present, but he’s also competing against four other rappers, Kendrick Lamar, Jay Z, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis — who lead all nominees this year with six nods — and Lil Wayne, who are nominated at the the annual ceremony.

Other nominees include Ciara and Alicia Keys, who will face off against each other for Favorite Female Artist — Soul/R&B.  Meanwhile, Rihanna will perform and receive a special award that has never before been presented, the first-ever AMA Icon Award.

Performers for the upcoming show include R. Kelly who will perform alongside Lady Gaga on her latest single, “Do What U Want.” Viewers will also see performances from Jennifer Lopez, Ariana Grande, and Pitbull, who’s also hosting the show.

In addition, TLC will perform with an unnamed guest. TLC’s Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas declined to drop hints regarding the identity of the guest during an interview with ABC News Radio. Regardless of who the guest is, “Chilli” says the performance will be a special moment for her and T-Boz. She explains, “The fact that we did perform 20 years ago and we’ve been in this game for 20 years and to be able to come back and people have so much enthusiasm and excitement to see us all these years later is everything to us.”

The American Music Awards recognize artists in all major musical genres. Check out the full list of nominees at AMAvote.com. You can watch the show live on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
