Killer Mike denies he’s on Bernie Sanders’ payroll

by

ABC/ Lorenzo BevilaquaIt’s no secret that Killer Mike has been a longtime supporter of Bernie Sanders since the senator he ran in the 2016 presidential election, but many are alleging the Georgia rapper is being compensated for doing so.

On Monday, Twitter decided to call out the activist, alleging he was taking money from the campaign in exchange for his support for Sanders.

“Keep it real mike. . . You all get paid to support of Bernie..lets call a spade a spade . Im starting to question your Integrity,” one Twitter user wrote.

Mike responded declaring, “Keep it really real. I’m accept NO MONEY from any politician. I am already rich.”

Killer Mike says his support has nothing to do with money, but that he’s only supporting a candidate who’s about action.

“If I’m a regular every day black person in America and Boots Riley, Mr Chuck D & Killer Mike all agree on the same Presidential candidate Umma really have to consider that candidate because these three in music and real life action really give a damn. #Sanders2020 #Vote” Mike tweeted.

Killer Mike is among the few rap veterans such as Bun B, Kid Cudi, Big Boi and Chuck D of Public Enemy who have shown their support for Bernie Sanders.

Killer Mike also supported Sanders during his 2016 presidential campaign.  Mike spoke at a rally for Sanders, where many deemed Mike’s commentary about Sanders’ then-opponent Hilary Clinton “sexist.” According to XXL, he quoted anti-racist, feminist, LGBTQ activist Jane Elliot during his speech. He said he had talked to her a few weeks ago where she told him, “Michael, a uterus doesn’t qualify you to be the president of the United States.”

Bernie also introduced Mike’s band Run The Jewels at Coachella that same year.
