Killer Mike’s Greenwood Initiative to support Atlanta families ahead of Thanksgiving

by

Steve WestKiller Mike, rapper, activist, and one half of the hip hop duo Run The Jewels, is planning a massive Thanksgiving drive-thru-giveaway, courtesy of Atlanta’s legendary Bankhead Seafood restaurant and food truck.

To address unmet needs in the spirit of giving, the event will serve as a partnership with Mike’s Greenwood digital banking initiative, its co-founder Ryan Glover, as well as the Historic Hills Community Development Corporation, a nonprofit organization that focuses on developing and sustaining healthy park-adjacent communities in Atlanta.

Killer Mike is the co-founder of Bankhead Seafood, along with rapper T.I. Besides the delicious food, all three sponsors have agreed to donate over 100 turkeys and gifts for selected winners of $50 gift cards from the HHCDC.

“Bankhead Seafood is a part of the community,” says Killer Mike in a press release. “This event is about serving the community and offering an asset that will empower the community as well. No one who comes on Monday will be turned away.”

“Bankhead Seafood isn’t just providing a meal but reminding us that the holidays are a time to come together as a community,” adds Glover.

The first annual drive-thru Thanksgiving giveaway takes place on Monday, November 23, from 1-3 p.m. ET at the Frederick Douglass High School student parking lot in Atlanta.
