Kim Fields has expanded her already world-wide audience as one of the stars of a new sitcom across the pond Fields has been cast as the spicy, feisty next-door-neighbor of the Pemberton family in the British sitcom “Living the Dream.” The show premiers on the streaming service BritBox Tuesday.
Fields, who turns 50 today (May 12) told the New York Post that her co-starring role in the show helps “shake off” her child actor image.
“Both of my former series, ‘The Facts of Life’ and ‘Living Single,’ are in worldwide syndication, so I’ve got some audience over there. But with ‘Living the Dream’ they’re seeing the ‘new’ Kim and not seeing me as a child on ‘Facts of Life’ or in my 20s on ‘Living Single. To have some new fans in Scotland or in London and to interact with the fan base over there through social media was fantastic, and very exciting.”
“Living the Dream,” is the story about the British Pemberton family, who move to Kissimmee, Fla., after the dad buys an RV park sight unseen. Neither the park or the people who live there are anything like the RV park’s promotional brochure.
Fields plays the fiery red-haired “Rhoda,” a next door neighbor whose character is described as “brassy and exuberant. Her role is to help the Pembertons adjust to their new life in America. “Rhoda” is married to an aging hippie on the show.
Kim is excited about the new gig and tweeted a thank=you to the #NYPOST for the feature story.
