Harlem’s Fashion Row teamed up with Nike to honor Lebron James with the Icon 360 Award, awarded specifically for his style and philanthropy. During the ceremony, James unraveled his latest Nike sneaker. Much different from all of his original designs, James’ new sneaker is a women’s sneaker designed by three female African American designers in which James explained was inspired by the three strong African American women in his life — his mother, wife, and 3-year old daughter, Zhuri.
In reference to his mother James expressed, “Because of you, Gloria James, I’m able to be in a position today where I can give back and showcase why I believe African-American women are the most powerful women in the world.”
