There’s no denying that Ledisi is embracing her sensual side with her latest studio album, The Truth. The singer is now explaining what prompted the shift in her image.
“I was two songs away from being done with The Truth when I decided I have to make a lifestyle change, physically,” she told Essence. “I got a nutritionist. I don’t like the treadmill so I did [an aerobics class called] Hip Hop and Heels.”
She also revealed that her new look was something she chose for herself. “It had nothing to do with a label, or music. I wanted to celebrate that part of me. I want to be seen as well as heard. I’ve been doing sexy songs,” she explains. “You only heard the voice, you didn’t see the image with it and now that you see the image you’re going ‘Whoa.’”
Fans will get to see Ledisi in rare form when she hits the road for her upcoming outing, dubbed The Truth tour, which begins on April 16 in Jackson, Florida.
