Photo by James DittigerAfter announcing the cast and official air date, Lifetime has released a 20-second trailer for Toni Braxton: Unbreak My Heart.

The brief clip opens with newcomer Lex Scott Davis gazing into the mirror while portraying Toni Braxton, followed by various glimpses into the singer’s life.  We see her laid out on a hospital stretcher being rushed down the hallway, posing for a photo-shoot,  playing the piano, walking a red carpet and performing on stage as her hit song “Unbreak My Heart” plays in the background.

The network previously revealed that narrative is based on the Grammy-winning diva’s memoir, which chronicles her rise to fame, sudden illness, financial troubles and divorce while navigating her son’s autism and family struggles.

Directed by Vondie Curtis Hall, the two-hour film is being executive produced by Braxton and Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds.

You can expect  the original made-for-TV movie to air Saturday, January 23 at 8 p.m. ET. An hour-long special, Beyond the Headlines: Toni Braxton, featuring interviews with Braxton, her family and others, will air immediately following at 10 p.m.
