Ludacris Looks Forward to Hosting the Teen Choice Awards

Ludacris will take on hosting duties for this weekend’s 2015 Teen Choice Awards. The rapper tells ABC Radio that he had a sentimental reason for accepting the chance to emcee the upcoming ceremony.

“My older daughter just turned 14 and this is a part of her birthday celebration, it’s the reason that I chose to do this,” Luda says. “So she’ll be kind of like behind the scenes and checking out the whole show and I just really want to make her happy, that’s all.”

The rapper also spoke on the nominees and how much competition there is this year, and even though he’s collaborated with a few of them, Luda says he just wants to see the best person win.

“No, I try not to be biased man, may the best person win, I think is the best way to see. Sometimes you get surprised and you just learn about what the fans really want or the behind the scenes stuff and how people vote, it’s just interesting to see so I’m definitely not biased. I just want to see the person, who worked the hardest and wants it the most, win.”

After hosting the Billboard Music Awards, the rapper adds that he’s mainly looking forward to the energy on Sunday.

“I just love the energy of teens all by themselves, I was just telling somebody teenagers don’t have any responsibility they don’t have to pay no damn bills, you know they don’t have stuff to worry about and it’s just about having fun, so I think that’s part of the element that I’m most excited about is having some of that energy because wouldn’t it be so great just to not have any damn responsibilities at all.”

So why should people tune in? Luda replies: “Man, because Ludacris is one of the hosts, that’s the best thing you need to know and it’s going to be a hell of a lot of fun and a lot of great energy, so make sure you check it out!”
