Mandisa says only love can chase out hate in uplifting track on new album, Out of the Dark

by

Michael GomezMandisa‘s latest album, Out of the Dark, is finally out everywhere, and on the disc, fans might hear two familiar sounding voices on one of the project’s stand-out tracks.

She says, “I am very excited to be back with Toby Mac and Kirk Franklin. We did a song years ago called ‘Lose My Soul’ on Toby’s album and we are back together with a song called ‘Bleed the Same,’ that was really born out of that week in July where there was a shooting on Tuesday, a shooting on Wednesday and a shooting on Thursday.”

According to Mandisa, the track puts a spotlight on the superficial reasons we judge others and why it’s time to put an end to encouraging division among each other and to, instead, stand united.

She explains, “I got together with my songwriters and I really wanted to write a song about how hate cannot chase out hate. Only love can do that.”

“And so, it’s a song saying that we all bleed the same on the inside, so let’s not put labels on each other on the outside and bring disunity. Let’s come together and walk in unity and in love.”

You can catch Mandisa in person for several upcoming onstage appearances, including the KLOVE Fan Awards in Nashville, Tennessee on May 28 and the Pulse Downtown Summer Series event in South Bend, Indiana on June 9.
