As Mariah Carey fans await the release of her new single “The Art of Letting Go,” the diva has taken to Facebook to tell them a bit about the song.
“I wrote and produced ‘The Art of Letting Go’ with my friend, the uber talented Rodney Jerkins,” Mariah writes, noting that, while the two have worked together before, “this time around, I feel we went down a more organic path in terms of our approach to the songwriting process.”
Mariah describes “The Art of Letting Go” as one of two “beloved” songs she wrote with Jerkins for her upcoming album, and adds, “As we were writing, we both got goosebumps and a feeling of nostalgia.”
“It might sound over the top but when I was singing this song, I felt like I had touched upon certain emotions within myself that I haven’t put on a record in a very long time,” she adds. “I truly can’t wait for all of you to hear and share these feelings with me.”
“The Art of Letting Go” will debut on November 11 on Mariah’s Facebook page at 11 a.m. ET.
